Hello there, I’m Alex Nicoll! I started this website at the beginning of 2019 after buying my first roof top tent. I thought creating a blog would be helpful as I could share my experiences and answers I’ve found along the way.
I have camped my entire life growing up in Nevada and always had a passion for it. After college, I moved up to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, in Oregon.
Owning a roof top tent has been an absolute joy. I find that it enhances each camping experience and always serves as a great conversation starter with friends or family.
This website contains everything I’ve learned about roof top tents. Along with my website Roof Tent Insider, I also made a Youtube channel! Be sure to subscribe, you’ll get to know me a bit better and hopefully find some more helpful tips along the way.
My Roof Top Tent and Set-Up
I started this blog right when I bought my RTT. I decided to go with the Smittybilt Overlander since it is made by a highly reputable company and is sold at a very fair price.
I’m 25 years old and this was a pretty big purchase so I wanted to be sure I liked it first. Unfortunately, the only way to do that is by buying one for yourself. So that’s what I did!
